'Cork County Council Cubs Camp - You & Your Beach Lifeguards'

What: A FREE camp aimed to teach children how to keep safe around water on three of our County Cork Beaches.

-Come for both days or join in on day two.
-Become a Junior Water Safety Officer for your School !!

Ages: 8 - 12 years old. (Accompanying adult required to stay at the beach.)
Your beach lifeguards will demonstrate to you the use of rescue equipment and provide an insight into our day-to-day duties.
Information such as our flag system, recognising hazards in open water and calling emergency services will be discussed.
Teaching of basic life support will also be included for the Council Cubs Camp.
Games such as Child Safety Orienteering will be set up in order to become familiar with your beach surroundings!
All children who get involved will receive a certificate on completing Cork County Council Cubs Camp.
We commenced the Cubs Camp initiative last Saturday in Fountainstown with John, Nancy & David on hand to share their knowledge and experience with the children. All the children who attended had a great morning and are looking forward to attending our follow on day which is this Saturday, August 5th from 11 am to 1 pm.
Camps may vary depending on ability & numbers. The children who attended last Saturday's Camp felt it was an excellent way to spend their Saturday morning. Their mantra on leaving the beach was "It's cool to know and stick to the water safety rules". Come along & join in the Water Safety Education Revolution here in Co. Cork.
